Road Freight from the UAE to the GCC

Road freight is often the fastest and most flexible way to move goods around the Arabian Peninsula. Our road freight service from the UAE to the GCC connects Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah with Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, as well as deliveries within the Emirates.

It suits distributors supplying regional branches, manufacturers feeding factories across borders and retailers restocking stores, especially when goods need to arrive on a specific day and air freight would be too costly.

What our road freight service includes

  • Full Truck Load (FTL): a dedicated vehicle for your goods only, going straight from loading point to delivery.
  • Less than Truck Load (LTL) and groupage: share space with other shipments and pay for the pallets or volume you use.
  • A choice of vehicles: curtain-siders, closed box trucks, flatbeds and low-beds for heavy or bulky items, and refrigerated trucks for temperature-sensitive goods.
  • Cross-border documentation: export and import declarations, transit papers and coordination with customs at the border.
  • Local distribution within the UAE, including multi-drop deliveries to stores and sites.
  • Loading and unloading support, with forklifts or cranes arranged where needed.

Routes we cover

We regularly move cargo on the main land corridors from the UAE, including routes to:

  • Saudi Arabia: Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah and industrial cities in between
  • Oman: Muscat, Sohar and Salalah
  • Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, usually via Saudi Arabia

Transit times depend on the destination and how quickly cargo clears at the borders. We give you a realistic estimate rather than a best-case promise.

How it works, step by step

  1. Share the details: pickup and delivery addresses, cargo type, weight, number of pallets and any special handling.
  2. Get a quote and schedule: we propose FTL or LTL, the right vehicle and a loading date.
  3. Prepare documents: we check the invoice and packing list and prepare the customs paperwork for every border on the route.
  4. Loading: the truck arrives at the agreed time and your cargo is loaded, secured and sealed.
  5. On the road: we follow the truck and keep you informed, especially at border crossings.
  6. Clearance and delivery: the goods are cleared at destination and delivered, and we send proof of delivery.

Why choose Global Logistic Group for GCC trucking

Most delays on Gulf road routes happen at the border, not on the highway. That is why we focus on getting the paperwork right before the truck leaves and on keeping in close contact with the driver and the customs broker during the crossing.

  • Paperwork checked in advance to reduce waiting time at borders.
  • Vetted transport partners with well-maintained vehicles. [PLACEHOLDER: own fleet or partner fleet details]
  • Clear communication with one contact person during the whole journey.
  • Combined solutions: road freight can connect with our sea and air services through UAE ports and airports, for example sea freight into Jebel Ali and onward trucking to Riyadh.
  • Cargo insurance available on request. [PLACEHOLDER: insurance details]

Tips for a smooth cross-border shipment

A little preparation on your side makes a real difference to how quickly a truck clears the border:

  • Match your documents to the cargo. Descriptions, quantities and weights on the invoice and packing list should agree exactly with what is on the truck.
  • Use the correct HS codes. A wrong tariff code is one of the most common reasons for inspections and extra duty. We can check them for you.
  • Check permit requirements early. Food, cosmetics, chemicals and electronics often need approvals in the destination country before they can be imported.
  • Pack for the journey. Pallets should be stretch-wrapped and stackable, and fragile items clearly marked, as goods may be inspected and reloaded at the border.

Industries and cargo we move by road

  • FMCG, food and beverages, including chilled goods
  • Construction materials and building supplies
  • Retail stock and e-commerce replenishment
  • Industrial equipment, generators and machinery
  • Automotive parts and tyres
  • Exhibition materials travelling between Gulf venues

For goods that need to be stored before delivery, combine road freight with our warehousing and distribution service in Dubai.

Road Freight: frequently asked questions

Which GCC countries do you deliver to by road?

We arrange road freight from the UAE to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, as well as deliveries within all seven Emirates.

What is the difference between FTL and LTL?

FTL (Full Truck Load) means the whole truck carries only your cargo and goes directly to your delivery address. LTL (Less than Truck Load) means you share the truck with other shipments and pay only for the space you use, which is cheaper for smaller loads.

How long does road freight from Dubai to Riyadh take?

Driving time is usually around two days, but the total transit time depends on border clearance and the type of goods. We give you an estimate with your quote and keep you updated during the trip.

What documents are needed for cross-border trucking in the GCC?

Typically a commercial invoice, a packing list, a certificate of origin and the customs declarations for export and import. Some goods also need permits. We tell you exactly what is required and prepare most of the paperwork for you.

Can you transport temperature-controlled goods by road?

Yes. We arrange refrigerated trucks for chilled and frozen products and agree the required temperature range with you before loading.
